Learning Programs

Christian Formation

The Christian Formation Leader will be able prepared to teach classes in Christian formation settings such as Sunday school, baptism & confirmation classes; evaluate curriculum; train teachers to teach; and oversee formation efforts for the congregation.  The Christian Formation Leader will complete the three-year ETS program in order to be recommended for licensure. Diaconal Ministry

The ministry of a deacon is to represent Christ and his Church, particularly as a servant of those in need; and to assist bishops and priests in the proclamation of the Gospel and the administration of the sacraments. To be recommended for Diaconal Ministry, the academic, three-year ETS program must be completed. To learn more, click either .pdf format or Word (.doc) format.

Outreach 

The Outreach leader will be able to lead ministries in response to community needs and advocate for social justice in the church and community.  The Outreach leader will complete the ETS one-year learning program in order to be recommended for licensure. Parish Administration & Development

The Pastoral Leader will be able to provide lay administrative oversight of a congregation such as scheduling worship leaders, clergy, and Eucharistic visitors (in the absence of a deacon). The pastoral leader will be able to facilitate the mission planning of the congregational committee or vestry with goal setting and coordination of ministries in the congregation. Pastorial Visitation

The pastoral visitor will be able to provide pastoral care to persons confined to their homes or persons in hospitals, nursing homes, prisons or other institutions and co-ordinate the pastoral care ministry of a congregation. To learn more, click either .pdf format or Word (.doc) format.

Preaching

The preacher will be prepared to preach in the congregation or diocese. The Preacher will complete the three-year, academic ETS program in order to be recommended for licensure. To learn more, click either .pdf format or Word (.doc) format.

Priestly Ministry

The ministry of a priest is to represent Christ and his Church, particularly as a pastor to the people; to share with the bishop in the overseeing of the Church; to proclaim the Gospel; to administer the sacraments; and to bless and declare pardon in the name of God. Worship Leadership

The Worship Leader will be prepared to design and lead worship services in the congregation or diocese, such as officiating at Morning or Evening Prayer, funeral services or other non-sacramental worship.  The Worship Leader will be able to design sacramental worship services under the guidance of the officiating priest.  The Worship Leader will complete the one-year ETS learning program in order to be recommended for licensure.
